Prom 2010: Ready or not, here it comes

Prom night. For some, knowing that it’s approaching is enough to have some jumping for joy. For others, simply hearing the phrase makes them want to run for the hills. Regardless of how you feel about it, prom is the second most important night of your senior year. Prom signifies the end of your high school career if you're a senior. Making this night one you won’t forget should be high on your priority list! How? Well, I asked a few of my facebook friends to give some advice on preparing for your special night. Feel free to comment on this post and share your own tips and stories. Below is their advice and mine, hope it helps!

Do pick a dress that flatters your body. There are a lot of boutiques that carry a wide selection of dress designs; surely there is something for you!

"Its ok if u find a dress that's too big for you, if you love it, take it in for alterations." Whitney H

"Do make sure you wear comfortable shoes." Stacey T

Do shop around, online is your best option. I saw the same dresses on several different sites for different prices. Prom is quickly approaching but if your prom is next month you still have time to order online.

If you have to buy locally, do go to a boutique that will register your dress to ensure no one at your prom will look like your twin. Rae Lynn's boutique in Greenwood, IN carries some of the designers pictured and WILL provide this service for you.

"Do get lots of rest the night before" Keonte W

Do remember to shave or wax your legs darling. You DO NOT want to be spotted looking like Willie Mammoth.

"Don't over accessorize" Shauna H

"Don't take a huge purse; you're not going to want to carry it all night." Alexis F

"Don't experiment with new hair colors a week before prom. You're going to be stuck with it regardless if you like it" Gerri M

Don't forget your camera!

I searched the internet to find fabulous dresses for everyone’s budget and body size, I hope you like them! While searching I noticed that the colorful printed gowns are really big this year and I LOVE THEM! Its spring ladies so if you can, wear a colorful dress. Yes, black slims you and if that’s your goal, by all means go for it! However, if you want to stand out and be noticed, wear some color darling. Long, short, fitted or flared it really doesn’t matter, find something that looks fabulous on you and enjoy your night!!!!!

Dress 1 is a beautiful keyhole dress from Terani. I saw this dress on several websites for several different prices. The lowest price I found was $179 at http://www.therosedress.com/ (pssst.... don't hold your arms like that in your prom pic)
Dress 2 is a gold x-neckline dress from David's Bridal prom line. It retails for $155 and can be found at http://www.davidsprom.com/
Dress 3 I would have to say is my absolute favorite and also the most expensive. The "Colorful Fiesta" dress has a sticker tag of $500 and can be purchased at http://www.jovani.com/
Dress 4 can be yours for the low price of $33 at http://www.forever21.com/
Dress 5 is a beautiful yellow dress from Jovani that I found at http://www.promgirl.com/ for $350. I noticed this dress on two other sites and the price was slightly higher.
Live. Life. Fabulously
